Home Rehab

The Housing Source’s rehabilitation of NSP homes is comprehensive, and includes new kitchens, bathrooms, HVAC systems, roofing, siding, flooring and finishes.  All of the components of the rehabilitation – including design and materials – are chosen to maximize the affordability, energy efficiency, and conservation of the home.

We choose materials made from sustainable resources, Energy Star rated light fixtures and appliances, and low VOC paints. We also conduct energy efficiency audits on each home to identify any gaps in the insulation, which helps complement the efficiency of the new HVAC systems.  Additionally, we encourage the recycling of building materials at our worksites.

Our attention to conservation also extends to the exterior of the home. We promote water conservation by xeriscaping with indigenous plants. To boost energy efficiency in the home from the outside in, we also make the best use of trees, landscaping ,and shading. All of our landscapes are designed with ease of maintenance for the homeowner in mind.

The final NSP home is not only fully rehabilitated, but also energy efficient, low maintenance, and affordable. We offer special financing programs with soft seconds and downpayment assistance to make long-term affordability of the home a reality for homebuyers.
